Large hoodies, sweatshirts back in rotation

NiekaStyle

Your 1990s large sweatshirts and pullover hoodie are no longer products of fashions past. They've made their way back this year and look to be a trend that will continue in the New Year.

Your old sweatshirt is the new oversized sweater in 2017 and is probably the most popular oversized item moving forward this year. Until recently, the humble hoodie or sweatshirt are pieces that are underrated and not usually worn in a stylish way. This sweater made a big entrance for spring 2016.

Not only are trendsetters sampling this oldie but goodie item; they're making some interesting pairings with it. Pair your oversized sweatshirt or hoodie with suede thigh high boots to update your 1990s throwback. I think I've referenced the suede a couple of times in previous writings but I just can't get over this leather. Suede is the material of the season and is worn with every look from shoes to handbags and pants.

Another way to wear your oversized shirts is with tights or distressed denim. Your oversized sweatshirt is the best layering over a T-shirt. Then there's the zip-up hoodie that is great for layering as well.

Other types of hoodies that are great is the half-zip and pullover, which are nice in a slim fit and look great underneath denim or leather jackets. You don’t want to attempt this type of layering if you're wearing the oversized sweatshirt or hoodie.

For men, the pullover hoodie looks great under a bomber jacket, slim fitting pants and boots. But don't break the bank for this sweater. Any time an old style recycles, labels tend to hike up prices. For instance, the Vetements hoodie sells for $885 or more.

Don't be afraid to sport your favorite old high school sweatshirt because it’s your revision of this classic that matters.
