Search begins for RGH leader

STAFF REPORT

Roger Samuel, managing director and practice leader for Gallagher MSA Search Kansas City, has been hired by the Roosevelt General Hospital Board of Trustees to help find a new CEO for the hospital, according to RGH Marketing and Public Relations Director Greg McFarland.

CEO Larry Leaming gave notice earlier this month that he was leaving. He will be going to Estes Park, Colorado, to work as CEO for Estes Park Medical Center.

MSA Search is making progress in their search for a new CEO, said McFarland in an email.

“Samuel ... has been collecting survey data from both community members and employees to ensure they are meeting the needs of the county during this process,” said McFarland.

He added the board anticipates a six-month or more search process.

“It’s not about filling a position; it’s about engaging an individual that has experience in rural health care and can continue RGH’s commitment to excellent patient care,” said McFarland.

A CEO search committee of seven members will assess the candidates found by Samuel once he has chosen them, McFarland said.
