Students attend officer retreat

On Monday, five officers from Clovis High School’s Distributive Educational Clubs of America chapter participated in a state chapter officer retreat at Hotel Albuquerque.

The training, according to a school release, was for Career Technical Student Organizations, which includes DECA and five other organizations. More than 600 CTSO students attended the sessions, which provide skills for leaders and ambassadors.

“These specialized trainings allow our students to meet other leaders, share ideas, and develop their own personal skills,” CHS DECA Advisor Tracy Henderson said. “This year’s workshops focused on building themselves and taking care of themselves to be able to give back to others. Managing stress and time are key things that will help the young leaders succeed; not just in their CTSO but in everything they do.”
