The following are events being held in conjunction with Halloween this weekend in the Clovis and Portales area.
Today
• The Vine Community Church has a Fall Carnival 6-8 p.m. at the church at 300 W. 14th St. in Clovis.
Friday
• Portales community safe trick-or-treat: 3-6 p.m. on the Portales town square.
• Portales First Baptist Church will be selling Chik-fil-A items from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. to raise funds for mission work next summer. There will be bounce houses at the church from 3-7 p.m. at 100 South Avenue C in Portales.
• Times Remembered Photography, 222 W. Second St. in Portales, will be giving one free 4X6 costume photo for two non-perishable food items.
Saturday
• St. Helen Catholic Church is the Children’s Halloween Carnival at 6 p.m. at the church at 1604 W. 17th Street in Portales.
• The Portales Recreation Center is hosting a haunted house from 7-11 p.m. at the center at 1001 W. 18th Street. The haunted house continues through Monday.
• The Curry County Events Center is hosting the “Trick or Treat Street” from 1-5 p.m. at the Curry County Fairgrounds at 1900 E. Brady Ave. in Clovis, NM.
• KTQM Radio is hosting the first “Boo at the Zoo” event at the Hillcrest Park Zoo at 1208 N. Norris in Clovis, NM.
Monday
• Kingswood United Methodist Church is holding a Trunk-or-Treat 5:30-7 p.m. on the north side parking lot of the church at 2600 North Main Street in Clovis.
• Trinity United Methodist Church is also having a trunk-or-treat event 5 p.m.-dusk at the church at 1320 W. 21st St. in Clovis.
• Emmanuel Baptist Church is hosting their third annual Fall-a-Palooza from 6-8 p.m. at the church at 524 N. Globe.
Living Word Church of God is hosting a Trunk or Treat 5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at the church, located at 3719 E. 21st St. The event, sponsored by the church’s Celebrate Recovery organization, will feature live music.
• La Casa Family Health Center is hosting a Pink Pumpkin Patch from noon-3 p.m. at the center on 1515 W. Fir in Portales. Decorated pumpkins can be submitted by 5 p.m. Friday to the front desk with a $5 suggested donation.
• The City of Clovis Police and Fire Departments will hand out candy at various locations in Clovis. The times and locations are as follows: 6:30 p.m. at the Clovis Police Department, 320 N. Connelly Street; 5 p.m. at Fire Station 1 at 320 Mitchell Street; 5 p.m. at Fire Station 2 at 615 E. Llano Estacado; 5 p.m. at Fire Station 3 at 2200 Cesar Chavez; 5 p.m. at Fire Station 4 at 1308 Norris Street; 5 p.m. at Fire Station 5 at 220 E. Brady.
