Curry County Ed Retirees

CCAER met May 3 at K-Bob's Restaurant, where President LaNell Leatherwood welcomed our guest speaker, Charley Zeni, association member benefits advisor (AMBA). Mr. Zeni presented many of the benefits available through AMBA. Though the benefits aren't for everyone, two of the benefits most utilized by members are MASA (Medical Air-Services Association) and long-term health care.

Mr. Zeni explained what services are available and why we should think about taking advantage of them. MASA membership offers, among other things, air/ground/and helicopter transportation for emergency medical situations. Long-term health care provides health care that Medicare and other insurances may not cover over our lifetimes. It was very valuable information for us retirees.

We invite all retired Curry County teachers to join us the first Tuesday of the month at K-Bob's at 11 a.m. Our next meeting will be September 6.
