The Dallas Christian College concert choir is set to perform in Clovis tonight.

The concert, called “Identity,” is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at First Christian Church of Clovis, 1700 N. Main St.

It’s part of the choir’s 2016 Kingdom Week Tour Program.

The tour occurs during Dallas Christian College’s spring break. The choir is touring the Southwest, not only performing, but also working with mission organizations such as Hope in Transit, according to the Dallas Christian College website.

Scott R. Spies is directing the choir, which is comprised of 25 members. The musical program will be based on the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and is expected to feature Gospel and contemporary Christian classics.

“I enjoy being able to see the young people give their musical gifts to glorify God and minister to others,” Spies said.

Along with the concert choir, there will be ensembles and a performance by the True 2 Life Drama Troupe, according to Jon Forrest, pastor at First Christian.

Forrest was a member of the choir in 1976 and 1980, his freshmen and senior years at the school.

“It’s very much a worship-oriented choir,” he said.

Admission is free. Love offerings will go to the college, Forrest said.
