Curry County has scheduled a pair of public input meetings at the Clovis-Carver Public Library to update the New Mexico Association of Counties’ wildfire risk reduction program for rural communities.
The meetings are set for 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the library’s Ingram Room and at 5:30 p.m. April 12 at the library’s North Annex.
The county, one of 11 grant recipients, received $17,000. The program, part of a partnership with the Bureau of Land Management, offers seed money for a wildfire protection plan, fuel reduction treatments and outreach and education.
