Empty stocking fund profile — Dec. 10

A couple with three children and a fourth on the way have asked the Clovis Salvation Army for help this Christmas.

“Only the husband works and there is not enough money to give toys and gifts to the children,” said Salvation Army Lt. Kelly Berggren.

“This young family is in need of help that can be given.”

Berggren said the family is among about two dozen who have qualified to receive holiday help from the Empty Stocking Fund, sponsored by the Clovis News Journal and Salvation Army.

The fund helps low-income families with toys, food and clothing.

Donations can be made at the Salvation Army, 317 E. Second St., or at the CNJ, 521 Pile St., in Clovis.
