The Eastern New Mexico softball program announced Wednesday it has added four signees to its program.
Adriana Carajabal of Los Lunas, Samantha Brockman of El Paso, Texas, Tristen Castaneda of Wylie, Texas, and Jordan Keimig of Edmond, Oklahoma will join the team for the 2017 season.
New ENMU softball coach Katie Wellborn said in a release from the school there are still recruiting targets, but called the signings a “strong start” for the program.
“All four girls have a strong chance of playing next year, and really making an impact on our program,” Welborn said. “My players this year have already been working so hard to reform this program, these four signees will be great additions for our vision.”
• Carajabal has played for Valencia since her eighth-grade year, playing mostly shortstop. She has been a first- or second-team all-district player in each of her first four seasons.
• Brockman, who attends Loretto Academy High School in El Paso, plays catcher and various infield positions.
• Castaneda, a four-year varsity starer at Wylie, is a pitcher.
• Keimig, an outfielder, helped Edmond North win the Oklahoma Class 6A softball championship in 2012.
