Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
That couple apparently obsessed with their cell phones in the restaurant? Yes, that might be us.
I know we’re not setting etiquette examples, but we do like to go out for lunch once in awhile, and the days spin by quickly, and our business doesn’t shut down just because we’re trying to grab some chicken and a sweet potato, so the phones come along.
While my husband is taking a call from a truck driver to give him delivery directions, I may drum up the adorable photos of our great-nephew in his Mickey Mouse ears and our great-niece in her tiny chef’s toque.
As soon as he’s off the phone I’ll give him a quick look at the darling pictures so we can talk about that instead of work.
But he’ll probably get a text right then from a customer wanting to meet with us. Since they’re paying for our lunch, he’ll gladly take time to reply.
That gives me a moment to open my weather app to make sure a concrete pour is still an option in the morning.
It’s the typical progression of our dinner dates. We’re happy to sit there together. Forgive us if we seem too connected to our phones.
