Curry County Educational Retirees
The Curry County Association of Educational Retirees met Nov. 3 at K-Bob's. Representative Yvette Herrell of Alamogordo spoke about her Federal Lands Study Committee bill that will be re-introduced in the upcoming legislative session. Constitutionally, BLM and Forest Service lands should have been turned over to each state after statehood. This has not been done in the western states. Her bill will study the impact to New Mexico's economy, security, and environment if thousands of acres of land with its timber, minerals, and grazing land were turned over to our state.
We invite all retired Curry County educational employees to join us the first Tuesday of each month at K-Bob's at 11 a.m. Our next meeting will be Dec. 1, when the CHS choir members will perform.
