Road work

Curry County is hoping for some roads less traveled the next few days.

County officials have planned road work from 6:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Wednesday on:

• Curry Road 14 from Curry Road M to Curry Road N, Curry Road N from State Road 245 (Llano Estacado) to Curry Road 14;

Also, road work is slated from 6:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday on Taylor Lane.

“Area residents are encouraged to schedule activities to minimize use of these roads for (three to four) hours after the oil is applied,” a news release from County Road Superintendent Dennis Fury said.

“Driving on fresh oil not only damages the road, but makes a mess of your vehicle.”

The release said the roads will not be closed during the chip-sealing process, “but we do ask for minimal usage.”

Anyone needing additional information can contact Fury at 575-762-1501.
