WICHITA FALLS, Texas — Sophomore forward Destinee Williamson scored twice in a span of less than five minutes in the first half on Friday, and Midwestern State made it stand up for a 2-0 Lone Star Conference women’s soccer victory over Eastern New Mexico.
Williamson put the Mustangs (4-2-2, 1-1-1 LSC) in front with 14:44 gone in the match when the shot from the left side of the box off an assist from junior midfielder Lauren Fambrough. She came back with her second goal at the 19:22 mark, taking a pass from junior defender Haley Britton and blasted one into the upper left corner of the net to complete the scoring.
Midwestern State’s defense keep the Greyhounds (3-5-1, 0-2-0) away from the net most of the night. Sophomore goalkeeper Courtney Burnette had to make just one save in the match.
ENMU continues a rugged weekend road trip on Sunday, visiting sixth-ranked Angelo State in a noon (MDT) start.
