Still seeking help ...

• As a followup on our story about attempts to create a memorial for the former Clovis hospital at the Matt 25 Hope Center that has since taken its place: Brenda Brooks reports a good response so far.

Specifically, she said the memorial still needs two mannequins and a display case. Contact Brooks at [email protected] to help.

ENMU graduation ...

• The green and silver ceremony will feature Barbara Damron, the cabinet secretary for the state’s Higher Education Department. Damron, whose education lies in psychology and nursing, started the first bone marrow transplant unit in southern Texas and developed and implemented the first state-wide oncology nursing education program in the country, according to her bio at the University of New Mexico School of Nursing.

The graduation is set for 10 a.m. Saturday at Greyhound Arena.

Bonus Jeff Bridges quote ...

• In reference to the star of “Comancheria,” a film that will be shot in Clovis and Albuquerque. “There's kind of a Zen aspect to bowling. The pins are either staying up or down before you even throw your arm back. It’s kind of a mindset. You want to be in this perfect mindset before you release the ball.”
