The couple moved to their first Germany assignment at Bitburg Air Base where their daughter Jennifer was born in 1972. Then they were stationed at Mather Air Force Base, Sacramento, California where their son Jason was born in1976.

Day’s Air Force career started in Germany at Hahn Air Base in 1985 when she was hired by the 6911th Electronic Security Squadron Commander.

After Germany, the Day family landed at Cannon Air Force Base in July 1988. Janet was hired by the Security Police Squadron commander. From there she went to work for the Civil Engineer Squadron, then the Mission Support Group and finally, she was chosen for the wing secretarial position in September 2002. Janet Day will celebrate 30 years on her job in March.
