Little helpful man causing trouble

After the big snow the time had come to venture out of The Stucco Hacienda and dig out our vehicles.

“I’m gonna go out and clean off the cars,” I announced to The Lady of the House.

“OK, remember, just your truck not my car,” said The Lady of the House. “We’ll just let the sun melt it off tomorrow.”

I went outside and surveyed the situation. I went back inside the house for my shovel and a broom.

“Now remember,” said The Lady of the House. “Just the truck, leave my car alone.”

“OK, just my truck,” I said.

I went outside again. I got to work shoveling snow away from the little truck and shoveling a path to the street. I took the broom and brushed the snow from the truck’s roof and hood. I got inside the cab and backed it out to the street then back into the drive. It was so easy I decided to take care of the car too.

I shoveled and brushed off the snow, hopped inside the car and proceeded….to get stuck in the driveway.

I went inside The Stucco Hacienda.

“Hey, can you help me?” I asked The Lady of the House.

“Help you with what?” she asked.

“The car’s stuck.”

“How’d the car get stuck?”

“I was trying to be helpful.”

“I told you not to bother with the car.”

“I was just trying to be helpful,” I said.

Without saying anymore The Lady of the House came outside. She got in the driver’s seat and I dutifully pushed the car to a clear spot.

The Lady of the House got out of the car, stood and stared at me.

“I was just trying to be helpful,” I said, smiling.

“I know dear, you’re always trying to be helpful,” she said. “How about this, next time that little helpful man comes out in your head sit him down and have a talk with him first.”
