Offensive

Chris Jones, Angelo State, Sr., G, Dallas — Jones averaged 18.5 points per game and also dished out 11 assists to help lead Angelo State to two convincing wins. Jones started the week with 14 points and three rebounds as the Rams cruised to an 85-52 win over Western New Mexico and then poured in 23 points and had eight assists in a tough-earned win over Texas-Permian Basin on Saturday. Jones shot 72.7 percent for the week after making 16 of 22 shots. Jones is averaging 15.3 points per game.

ENMU nominee

Chris Wyms, Jr., G, Carson, Calif. — Wyms averaged a team-best 19 points and dished out 7.5 rebounds in addition to shooting 50 percent from the floor and hitting all 10 free throw attempts. In the Hounds' 91-90 win over Northern New Mexico, he poured in 27 points and dished out nine assists. He also had 11 points, six assists and nine rebounds against Texas-Permian Basin.

Defensive

Darrell Williams, Texas A&M-Commerce, Sr., F, Chicago — Williams dominated the boards as the Lions defeated Dallas Baptist and Southern Arkansas. He averaged 17.5 rebounds a game, including 20 rebounds against DBU. Williams averaged a double-double on the week averaging 15.5 points. Williams also provided three blocks and three steals.

Offensive

Sasha Watson, West Texas A&M, So., G, Amarillo — Watson went a blistering 16-of-22 from the field (.727) in 52 minutes of work for the Lady Buffs in wins over Oklahoma Panhandle State and Oklahoma Christian. Against OC, Watson went a career-best 9-of-15 from the fieldfor a career-high 22 points. Against OPSU, she went a perfect 7-for-7 from the field in the 108-59 victory. For the week, she averaged a team-high 19 points and had eight assists.

Defensive

La’Tisha Hearne, Texas A&M-Commerce, Sr., F, Richardson, Texas — Hearne recorded her third double-double on Saturday, scoring 20 points to go with her 14 rebounds as the Lions beat Rogers State in overtime 62-55. Hearne chipped in a block and two steals, establishing her presence on both ends of the court as the Lions held the visiting Hillcats to a paltry 25 percent from the field.
