Spight makes all-super region team

STAFF REPORT

Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds senior running back E’lon Spight became the first Greyhound to earn Daktronics First Team All-Super Region 4 honors in four seasons.

ENMU senior linebacker Seth Bailey of Texico made the second team.

Spight, a senior from St. Louis, Missouri, rushed for 1,611 yards and scored 19 touchdowns — both single-season records — in helping the Greyhounds to a 7-5 record and a fifth place finish in the LSC this season.

Spight led the conference and finished fifth with 146.5 yards rushing per game

Safety Tillman Stevens in 2010 was the Greyhound to make the All-Super Region 4 team.

Bailey was a key contributor for a Geryhounds’ defense that led the LSC in total defense, rushing defense and was second in scoring defense.

Bailey also led the Greyhounds in interceptions (4), tackles (81) and passes defended (8).

He scored two TDs during this season, on a 30-yard fumble return against West Texas A&M and a 32-yard interception return against McMurry.
