• Last time out: The Greyhounds lost to Fort Lewis 104-72 on Thursday at Durango, Colo. The Mustangs lost to St. Mary’s 77-52 on Saturday in the Skyhawk Classic at Ignacio, Colo.
• Last meeting: The teams played twice in a five-day span in November 2009, with ENMU winning 83-68 at Portales and WNMU prevailing 76-64 at Silver.
• Of note: ENNU leads the all-time series with the Mustangs 47-43, but is 2-5 on neutral courts. … After two games, WNMU is shooting just 29 percent from the floor and has way fewer field goals (28) than free throws made (47). The Mustangs have also been outrebounded through two games 91-50. … Coach Jeff Law suffered through a 2-23 season in 2013-14, his first at WNMU. Previously, he spent 15 years at Division II Hawaii-Hilo and is that school’s all-time winningest coach (208-188). … This is ENMU’s fifth game in eight nights to open the season, and third this week against Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference opposition. But while Colorado State-Pueblo was sixth and Fort Lewis fourth in the 14-team RMAC preseason poll, the Mustangs were picked for dead last. … The Hounds allowed more than 100 or more points in losses at Pueblo and Fort Lewis, the first time that’s happened in back-to-back games since the 1979-80 season. … Brandon Tanter, a 6-foot-2 sophomore G, leads the Mustangs in scoring through two games (12.5 ppg).

• Last time out: The Zias lost to Colorado-Colorado Springs 62-59 on Saturday in the Tony Corbetta Classic at Golden, Colo. WNMU posted an 83-26 win over University of the Southwest on Thursday at Silver.
• Last meeting: Feb. 14, the Lady Mustangs edged ENMU on a 3-point shot by now-senior G RaTanya Newsome with two seconds left at Greyhound Arena. The all-time series is tied 3-3, and the Zias had won the previous three meetings.
• Of note: All 16 players saw between seven and 17 minutes of action for the Lady Mustangs against USW, and everyone scored. Leaders with 11 points each were 5-10 senior G Ashley Mitchell and 5-9 senior G Stephanie Douhit. … USW went 9-of-48 from the floor, missing all 17 tries from 3-point land. … ENMU had late leads in both games at Golden, losing by a combined five points. … The Lady Mustangs played three preseason exhibitions against Division I competition, beating Northern Arizona 58-54 and losing to Idaho State 75-58 and Utah State 87-66.
