Texico, Farwell and Muleshoe all learned their playoff fates on Saturday.
The Wolverines (3-7) earned the No. 10 seed in the 12-team New Mexico Class 3A playoffs and will play at seventh-seeded Tularosa (4-6). That game will be played on either Friday night or Saturday, with the time to be announced.
Meanwhile, Farwell (8-2) earned a first-round bye in the Texas Class 2A Division II Region I playoffs. The Steers will await the winner in two weeks of a Friday contest at Bushland between Memphis (4-6) and Smyer (4-6), scheduled for 7:30 p.m. (CDT).
Muleshoe (7-3), which like Farwell won its district championship, has a first-round game at 7 p.m. (CDT) on Friday against Kermit (3-7), a team the Mules defeated 41-13 earlier in the season.
In 8-man, Melrose (9-1) advanced to the semifinal round with a 52-14 win on Friday night over Tatum, and the Buffaloes will face Magdalena (10-0) next weekend, time and site TBA. A coin flip will determine the home team.
