Early voting ends at 6 p.m. today at the Curry County Courthouse Annex and the North Plains Mall.

Amber Roberts of the clerk’s office said the mall had received 1,199 votes through Friday. She said 1,427 had voted at the courthouse.

Roberts said the last day to mail in the absentee ballots was Friday and as of 10:30 a.m. on Friday they had received 388 ballots out of the 560 ballots sent out.

Roberts said there are 23,654 registered voters in Curry County, so about 13 percent of them have already voted.

Polls on Tuesday will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The Curry County polling places include Colonial Clubhouse, Roy Walker Center, Trinity United Methodist Church, Youth Recreation Building, Grady Senior Citizens Center, Melrose City Hall and Texico Community Building. Voters in any precinct may vote at any of those locations.

There are also two rural precincts, Pleasant Hill Fire Department and Ranchvale Elementary School, where voters must live in those precincts.

Early voting also ends at 6 p.m. today at the Roosevelt County Courthouse and the Portales Memorial Building.

The Roosevelt County clerk’s office reported 1,261 early votes as of 5 p.m. Thursday, including 313 absentee by mail.
