Small business group meeting in Clovis

New Mexico Small Business Investment Corporation (NMSBIC) is hosting a community meeting from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Monday at the Business Enterprise Center in Clovis.

The meeting is for entrepreneurs interested in starting a business and others who want to expand their business, according to a news release from the Clovis/Curry County Chamber of Commerce.

The meeting is also to connect businessmen and women to capital and resources that can help their businesses grow.

“The NMSBIC board is excited to hold its October meeting in Clovis and to have this opportunity to share information with members of the community in eastern New Mexico,” said Launa Waller, NMSBIC board member and regulatory manager at Plateau.

Cost to attend is $10 per person at the door. To RSVP contact the Clovis Chamber of Commerce no later than Thursday.

Glass Doctor owner earns awards

Gene Porter, owner of Glass Doctor of Clovis earned two awards at The Dwyer Group international conference held last month in Orlando, Florida.

He received the Top Gun Award and the Market Penetration Award, according to a news release from Glass Doctor.

The Top Gun Award goes to franchise owners who achieve top sales and reach operation benchmarks. The Top Gun recipients represent the top 10 percent of Glass Doctor franchise owners across North America.

The Market Penetration Award is presented to the Glass Doctor franchisee that, within a specific region, achieves the highest per capita sales, the release said.
