Things looked good as the Zias opened a 14-6 lead in the first set, but the Aggies overcame their slow start and went on a 13-3 run. ENMU senior Agatha Gibbons finally ended the surge with a kill.

The Zias rallied back and led 20-19 before Lawson and freshman Brooklyn Biel put down a pair of kills each to give ENMU the game.

ENMU had early leads in the second and fourth games, but couldn’t hang on as the Aggies pulled out the win.

Five Aggies had double-figure digs, led by Kayla Hebert with 16. Meantime, the Zias got a match-high 24 digs from Clovis freshman Andrea Aguilar, and 30 and 25 assists from setters Karra Day and Kennedi Catano, respectively.

The Zias will begin a four-match homestand on Tuesday, hosting LSC rival West Texas A&M in a 7 p.m. start at Greyhound Arena.
