CANYON, Texas — Eastern New Mexico University inched closer to .500 as John Jamison scored in 40th minute the Greyhounds a 1-0 victory over West Texas A&M.
Jamison (Albuquerque, N.M./Sandia HS) scored with a shot that bounced off the right post and across the goal line.
With the win the Greyhounds (4-5-2) extend their unbeaten streak to four games
For Jamison, the score was his second career goal and first game winning goal. Abayneh Crosby recorded the assist, but his four-game goal streak was snapped in the win.
The first half saw little action as Jamison was the only Greyhounds player to record a shot, while the Buffaloes (6-4) had four shots, one of which was on goal.
In the second half, the Buffaloes got one good look in the 73rd minute when Vitor Cardoso had an attempt, but the shot hit the crossbar.
Forward Alexis Medina led the Greyhounds with three shots, and keeper James Gutierrez had his second shutout of the season.
