Homecoming bonfire cancelled

One downside to rain — it tends to dampen outdoor activities.

Portales High School’s homecoming bonfire was canceled Thursday night because of the rain, but spirit week activities were still celebrated at the school.

The pep rally is still set for 2:25 p.m. today at the gym, which will introduce the homecoming court. The football game is still on for 7 p.m. against Eunice High School.

A decision on whether the homecoming court will be walking during halftime of the game is still under consideration and may be moved to a later time because of the weather.
