Resident notches third ace

Clois Jeffries of Portales got his Labor Day weekend off to a great start, notching a hole-in-one Saturday at the Portales Country Club.

The ace, the third for Jeffries, came on the 141-yard No. 3 hole. The shot was made with a Callaway 7 iron and a Titleist Pro V1x.

The hole-in-one was witnessed by Jerry Partin, Ronnie Tiner and Mike Parkey.
