U.S. Rep. Steve Pearce, representing New Mexico’s Second Congressional District, is scheduled to speak during Constitution Day at Eastern New Mexico University on Sept. 12.
The event will be held in the Sandia Room of the Campus Union Building at 2 p.m.
Pearce, a Republican, is scheduled to answer questions after speaking.
In 2004, Congress passed a law that mandated all public schools have an observance to mark the anniversary, Sept. 17, 1787, that the Constitution was sent to the states for ratification.
