Woman gets eight years on drug charges
Staff report
Sharon Kirven, 37, of Clovis, was sentenced Monday to eight years in prison on drug charges.
Kirven was convicted June 26 by a district court jury of trafficking controlled substances and solicitation to tamper with evidence, according to a press release from District Attorney Andrea Reeb.
The release said Kirven was arrested May 28 at Curry County jail after telling a family member in a recorded telephone conversation where she had hidden cocaine. Police located 4.4 ounces of cocaine in a vehicle at the location, according to the release.
Kirven’s attorney, District Public Defender Chandler Blair, declined comment.
