Cattle Baron reopens following inspection
Cattle Baron in Portales reopened Monday morning following an inspection that cleared the restaurant of numerous New Mexico Environment Department code violations.
NMED Communications Director Jim Winchester said the restaurant reopened following an inspection that showed restaurant staff had “adequately addressed all remaining items of concerns.”
Restaurant management confirmed the restaurant reopened but directed all other inquiries to its corporate office.
The restaurant was closed Thursday after an anonymous tipster contacted the NMED regarding restaurant conditions.
An NMED initially found 23 violations in the restaurant. NMED documents showed violations included cross contamination and flooding problems.
