Staff report
As much as an inch of rain was recorded in Clovis from a 30-minute downpour Monday afternoon that temporarily flooded several streets.
Another 15-minute squall about 8 p.m. added more to the total.
And more may be on the way over the next two days.
Accuweather.com Meteorologist Brian Edwards said storms north of eastern New Mexico are creating possibilities for rain in the area today and Wednesday.
High temperatures are expected to reach 83 degrees today, which Edwards said is below normal for this time of year.
“You’ll see stuff bubbling up in the afternoon,” said Edwards.
He says there’s an even better chance for showers and storms on Wednesday.

Edwards said it will begin to dry out on Thursday heading toward the weekend and temperatures will begin to rise into the 90s again.
