Webb interested in Grant County spot

Roosevelt County Manager Charlene Webb confirmed she’s one of 11 applicants for Grant County manager.

Webb, whose annual salary is $81,440, said she’s a native of that county and applied for the position because she wants to be closer to home.

“I’ve applied for that position because it’s an opportunity for me to be closer to my family and further my career,” said Webb. “That’s home for me.”

Interim Grant County Manager Abby Robinson said the position’s salary depends on the applicant’s experience, but is in the range of $80,000 to $120,000.

Webb had her county manager contract renewed for the next two years by the Roosevelt County Commission in March. She’s been manager of this county since 2001.

Webb said the commission is aware she applied for the position.
