Former Clovis resident in critical condition
Staff report
A 19-year old Amarillo woman in critical condition after leaping from a moving vehicle in that city early Thursday was identified by police as Florinda Marez, formerly of Clovis.
Marez is being treated at an Amarillo hospital with what Amarillo police Sgt. Brent Barbee described as life-threatening injuries. She jumped from a vehicle that was westbound on Linberg Street about 4 a.m. (CDT), according to police.
The driver and only other person in the vehicle was Jabarel Trevel Mills, 21, of Amarillo, police said.
Barbee would only say Mills and Marez had been involved in a dispute prior to the incident. The incident remains under investigation.
