Bunce tabbed for deputy superintendent of operations spot

A replacement has been chosen to fill the position left open when Jody Balch became superintendent of Clovis Municipal Schools.

According to a press release from CMS, Carrie Bunce has been chosen to fill the position of deputy superintendent of operations. Bunce was chosen by a 10-member interview committee on Wednesday.

The committee interviewed seven candidates for the position.

Bunce has been employed with Clovis schools for 23 years. The press release states she taught at Sandia Elementary from 1990-1998, then served as principal at Mesa and Barry Elementary schools from 1998-2011.

Bunce has served as central office grant programs and instruction specialist. In July 2013, she became accountability coordinator for CMS.

Clovis has been home to Bunce since 1970.

Bunce starts at her new position Monday.
