Serial DWI offender gets three years

A Clovis man was sentenced Thursday to three years in prison for his fifth offense of driving while intoxicated.

Teddy Reeser, 57, of Clovis, who was also charged with driving with a license suspended or revoked for DWI, received the maximum sentence possible, according to a release from the Ninth Judicial District Attorney’s office.

According to the release:

• Reeser was arrested April 27, 2012, after a motor vehicle accident in which he fled the scene. A test showed a blood alcohol level of .39. The legal limit in New Mexico is .08.

• He was found guilty May 20 by a Curry County jury and sentenced Thursday by Judge Drew Tatum.
