Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
Last week was hectic. Not only did the papers on my desk seem to be consuming me, but the clutter at home wasn’t looking any better.

I maintain the small mess I have but every day last week it seemed to grow. I read an Onion article that poked fun at the small amount of time working Americans have to pursue their passions on nights and weekends.
I had a good laugh, but even the small things I’m not so passionate about that need to get done seem so insufferable with the short time I get a day that isn’t work.
I just want to watch “The Voice” on my DVR and heat up my dinner like everyone else. But the mess in my home seems to be more indicative of my life. Recently I’ve made an effort to change my attitude and I’m definitely feeling happier, but to continue that, I want my creative space in my home so I can take things to the next level.
As Albert Einstein said, “Out of clutter find simplicity; From discord find harmony; In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.”
Last weekend I shut off my electronic devices and put minimalist practices in place. I bit off more than I can chew; it’s going to be more than a one-weekend project but it felt fantastic to let go of things I don’t need.
I don’t have to worry about my happiness and my family won’t have to worry about seeing me on “Hoarders.”
