LAWTON, Okla. — Designated player Paige Daino and first baseman Sonora Zukerman belted two-run homers on Saturday and Cameron shut out Eastern New Mexico University 8-0 in the rubber match of teams’ opening Lone Star Conference softball series.

Kelsey Watson (6-3) picked up her second complete-game win of the series, allowing just two singles in five innings with one walk and four strikeouts.

All three games ended in five innings on the eight-run rule. ENMU (7-12) took Friday’s first game 9-1 while the Aggies (13-5) won the second by the same score.

Only half of Cameron’s runs in the finale were earned, the result of three Zias errors and a passed ball. Meantime, the only hits off Watson were an infield hit by center fielder Amanda Martinez in the third and a two-out single to right by catcher Shelby Ripple in the fourth.

Cameron’s Misty Dooley led off the bottom of the first with a single, moved to third on two groundouts and scored on a passed ball. In the second, Breezy McComas reached on an error and Daino followed with a two-run shot to right, her first of the season.

Tara Martini drew a one-out walk in the third and rode home on Zukerman’s sixth of the season to center field. The Aggies added two unearned runs in the fourth on an error and a two-out RBI single by McComas before finishing it off in the fifth when Carly Allerheiligen tripled to left with two out and scored on catcher Makenzie Burk’s single.
