Last time out: Tarleton State beat West Texas A&M 81-68 at Stephenville, Texas, while the Greyhounds lost the same night at Texas A&M-Commerce 78-71.

Last meeting: The Texans got off to a fast start and cruised past the Hounds 66-41 On Jan. 25 at Stephenville.

Of note: Tarleton traded two-point decisions with Midwestern State, each winning on the road. … The Texans lead the Lone Star Conference in both scoring offense (87.0 ppg) and scoring defense (64.0 ppg). … TSU has won 13 of the last 14 meetings and leads the all-time series 34-8, although ENMU won at home 59-56 last season. … Coach Lonn Reisman is 552-227 in his 26th season at Tarleton. Surprisingly, though, the program surpassed the .500 mark all-time for the first time this season and comes into today’s game 730-725. … Tarleton has started the same lineup in every game. The Texans’ top players are 6-foot senior G Chuck Guy (15.7 ppg, 6.2 apg, 1.8 spg, 86 percent FTs), 6-2 senior G De’Andre Church (15.4 ppg) and 6-6 junior F Tashawn Mabry (11.7 ppg). Mabry, who hasn’t started a game, shoots 41 percent from 3-point range and 86 percent from the free throw line and is second in the LSC in made 3-pointers (63) behind ENMU senior G Rodney Blackmon (65). … Blackmon (15.7 ppg) is tied with Guy for fifth in the LSC in scoring and leads four Hounds averaging in double figures.

WOMEN

Tarleton State (18-6, 9-5 LSC) at ENMU (6-17, 4-10)

Last time out: The TexAnns upended No. 3-ranked West Texas A&M 71-69 at home on Wednesday. The Zias lost at Texas A&M Commerce 84-65 on Wednesday and at Texas Woman’s 71-58 on Thursday.

Last meeting: The Zias were competitive most of the way before losing to TSU 89-71 on Jan. 25 at Stephenville.

Of note: TSU leads the all-time series 27-12 and has won 23 of the last 25 meetings. … The TexAnns are 16-1 at home and on neutral courts, but just 2-5 on the road and have lost four in a row. … ENMU, which has dropped eight in a row, is in a three-way tie for seventh in the LSC, one-half-game behind sixth-place Texas A&M-Commerce. One of those four won’t make the LSC tournament. … TSU has probably the top player in the league in 6-1 senior C Kiara Wright (21.4 ppg, 12.5 rpg, 62 percent FGS, 54 steals). Also averaging in double figures are 5-8 senior G Brianna Bledsoe, a Stephenville High product, and 5-7 junior G Kathy Thomas (10.2 ppg), a transfer from the University of Iowa.
