No greater love than God's

God sends his valentine to you every day. His valentine contains comfort, confidence, counsel, protection, favor, abundance, healing, wisdom, knowledge and anything else his children need.

God’s valentine is the Bible.

“I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving kindness” (Jeremiah 31:3 NIV).

Many love stories in the Bible thrill me. I love the story of sweethearts in Song of Solomon. It is filled with passion and romance. It tells of the depths and ecstasy of love between Solomon and his bride. Their love for each other depicts the excitement and the mystery of love.link

Tears streamed down my face as I listened to our last son pledge his love to his beautiful bride with these word for the Song of Solomon 8:6-7:

“Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot wash it away. If one were to give all the wealth of his house for love, it would be utterly scorned.”

The writer in Proverbs 30:19 states four things that he didn’t understand, “.the way an eagle flies in the sky, the way a snake slides over a rock, the way ship sails on the sea, and the way a man and a woman fall in love.”

The love between Abraham and Sarah impresses me. I think of the love Jacob had for Rachel working 14 years before her father would agree.

Wicked Haman had devised a scheme to have the king issue an order that would put many to death. Queen Esther knew she was the only one who could save her people.

Queen Esther’s brave answer; “I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law; and if I perish, I perish” (Esther 4:16). She didn’t perish but saved her people with her unselfish love.

Faith filled people had an extraordinary amount of love. Love is of God and God is love. His love is greater still!

Love means accepting the responsibility and the willingness to go the second mile. It means sacrifice, patience and most of all forgiveness.

Every day I can open God’s valentine, His love letter for you and me. His love is in the Bible. He tells you all about His love and His longing to be near you. There is no greater love.

Love isn’t love ‘til you give it away.

Love isn’t love ‘til it comes to stay.

Love isn’t love ‘til you share it.

Love isn’t love ‘til you bear it.

Love is long suffering patience and kind.

Love is unselfish and peace of mind.

Love bears all things no matter the cost.

Love never gives up on one that is lost.

Love never ends. It always stays.

Love never fails. It is faithful and true.

Love is forever. God’s love is for you.
