ROSWELL — The Portales Rams went toe-to-toe for a half with New Mexico Military on Tuesday.
The second stanza, though, was another story.
Senior Jorge Garza scored twice to lead the Colts' second-half charge in a 4-0 victory over the Rams.
Portales (4-5) controlled the ball for much of the opening half, but couldn't break through. When play resumed, it was the Colts' turn to dominate.
Senior Gerardo Estrella and junior Daniel Kartushyn added second-half goals for NMMI.
The Rams return to Roswell on Thursday for a 4 p.m. matchup against Roswell High. PHS then entertains Hobbs in a 1 p.m. start on Saturday.
