Press release: Melrose Schools names baseball coach

The Melrose School Baseball program will have a seasoned face leading the baseball program for the 2013 season. Jim Doherty, who just finished his first season as the Melrose Basketball Coach, will add to his duties by taking over the baseball team as head coach for the upcoming school year.

"Coach Doherty is an outstanding coach and has a background in baseball and basketball. He played high school baseball and college basketball and he has been a coach for many years. I think we are very fortunate at Melrose to have such a high quality coach willing to add to his duties in taking over the baseball program," said Jamie Widner, Melrose Schools Superintendent. According to Widner, "Coach Doherty will bring high energy to baseball, just as he did to basketball here at Melrose."
