CHS tennis entries bow out

ALBUQUERQUE — Clovis High's tennis season came to an end on Thursday when senior Alek Mendoza and sophomore Meera Shah were beaten in girls doubles by top-seeded Diamond Morrill and Eliana Garcia of District 4-5A rival Carlsbad 6-1, 6-4.

Mendoza and Shah, seeded eighth, advanced with a win in their first-round match on Wednesday over Cibola's Tessa Hunt and Sarah Wirtz 6-3, 7-5.

Meantime, the boys' lone representative, senior Charlie Sharp, dropped his opening-round singles match on Wednesday night to eighth-seeded Jackson Sosin of Mayfield 6-3, 6-3.
