My turn: Weekend will keep me busy

With all of this weekend's activities, it looks like I'm going to be making up for my two completely unproductive days last weekend in which all I did was sleep (not that it wasn't needed).

Portales has some great activities lined up for this weekend, which include a concert by Christian bands Big Daddy Weave and Mike's Chair. The concert will be 6 p.m. Sunday in the Eastern New Mexico University Campus Union Building.

Portales High School students will also be putting on a production of "My Fair Lady" this weekend in which a girl from the streets comes to a rich businessman to learn to speak properly. Personally, I'm excited to finally see a live stage production of this play, because I have never had the luxury before. But just as the high school's production of "Guys and Dolls" did, I know it's going to make me want to go rent the cinematic version afterwards.

Along with these activities this weekend, I'm also hoping to talk co-worker Christina Calloway into getting her first horseback riding lesson with me. She's not the only one it will be a new venue for, so we can start from scratch together.
