Jail renovations focus of county meeting

An architect's plan for more than $9 million in renovations and a possible addition to the Curry County jail is the focus of a special meeting 9 a.m. Friday.

The meeting at the Clovis-Carver Library north annex room will open with county commissioners adjourning into executive session to consider the purchase of property.

Any action taken on the purchase must be decided when commissioners reconvene in public session.

Later, Clovis architect Paul Reed will present conceptual drawings and detailed plans for proposed work at the jail.

Commissioners have scheduled a special $9.3 million bond issue election on April 3, asking voters to extend a 20-year tax to pay for work at the jail.
