Oak Ridge Boys put on good show
I would like to commend the Curry County Events Center staff for arranging for the Oak Ridge Boys to perform in Clovis.
It was one of the best concerts I have been to.
Will Banister opened the show. He is a young man with a lot of talent, and I think he will be going far in the music business.
The Oak Ridge Boys then took the stage. Seeing them in person was amazing. They performed for 90 minutes, giving one great performance, well worth the price of the ticket.
I truly hope the Events Center staff will try to get more performers to come to Clovis. The crowd proved people will go if the performers are there.
Again, this was one of the best concerts I have seen, as the Oak Ridge Boys truly enjoy performing for their fans, and they love what they do.

Clovis mayor committed to providing water
Having water from Ute Reservoir is the closest to reality it has ever been. This is due to the work of Clovis Mayor Gayla Brumfield.
During her tenure as mayor and chairperson of the Eastern New Mexico Rural Water Authority, the project received federal authorization in 2010 — a result of her many hours of work locally plus the numerous trips to Washington, D.C., and working with our federal delegation.
This is a huge step for the project. She is working hard to sustain the economies of all of the communities involved. That includes Logan, Tucumcari and Quay County, not just Clovis, Portales and the other communities that will be served by the pipeline. She is seeking a drought management plan for the reservoir that involves input from all entities.
As former manager of New Mexico American Water, I had the opportunity to work closely with Mayor Brumfield; in her first campaign I remember she was the only candidate that actually came to me and asked what is the real water situation of Clovis. This made an impression on me, as all of the other candidates had water in their campaigns but none sought out the true position and work that New Mexico American was doing.
I want to thank her for her hard work in making sure we have a sustainable water source for our communities in eastern New Mexico.
