Hounds sign four for track, cross country

PORTALES — Texico’s Dathan McWhorter was among four student-athletes who signed a national letter of intent recently to participate in track or cross country at Eastern New Mexico University.

McWhorter won the Class 2A shot put and discus titles this spring. His top throw in the shot was 53 feet, 3 inches.

Also signing were hurdler Thomas Colvin of Sumter High School in Sumter, S.C., hurdler Mika Willis of Carlsbad and distance runner Alesha Jones Wilcox of Eastern Arizona College.
