Feb. 10, 1941: Portales Daily News: The approval of a section of land south of Portales as the location for a municipal airport was made by a CAA inspector last week. Frank Craddock of the chamber of commerce was making an effort to arouse local interest to the point where negotiation for acquiring the property would be opened.
