Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
New Year’s Eve was a successful night for me, as I hope it was for many others in the community.
I started the evening off by attending the heavy metal concert on Main Street in Clovis. It was a pretty successful concert and had a fairly large turn out.
Saturday, I took a trip to Lubbock with a friend of mine, who introduced me to an even larger variety of metal bands while in the car. I’ve always enjoyed metal music to an extent, but I may potentially be on my way to becoming a full blown metal fan.
There is a very distinct passion and creativity to heavy metal music that I am admiring more each time I hear it. And let’s face it, whether you like it or not, you can’t beat the instrumentals in heavy metal. You don’t get more variety than that.
If you have an appreciation for music but don’t care too much for metal, I highly recommend giving it a chance. If you appreciate music, you will appreciate heavy metal instrumentals and lyrics (if maybe not the screaming). And don’t say no to the idea of attending a local concert either. They’re not a bad way to spend your evening.
