Samplings of recent calls to Portales law enforcement, according to police records:
Tuesday
• A police officer was dispatched to Allsup’s, 120 South Chicago St., at 5:41 p.m. in reference to an automobile burglary.
• Officers were dispatched to Allsup’s, 1801 South Avenue I, at 6:01 p.m. in reference to domestic violence in progress. A male subject was located, who had just battered a female subject and the male was taken into custody and charged under the Family Violence Protection Act.
• Officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of South Avenue I at 9:31 p.m. in regards to a domestic dispute. A man yelled profane words at his sister, where he was visiting for the holidays, then later attacked her boyfriend. The family did not press charges.
Wednesday
• An officer was dispatched to a business on the 200 block of South Abilene at 7:50 a.m. in reference to breaking and entering. The officer noted someone had broken into the restroom from the outdoor utility room by using a flathead screw driver, a re-bar and a chisel. The officer collected the tools and a T-shirt, which was found inside the building, as evidence. No items were reported missing from the business.
