Bill includes funds for Cannon

The 2011 Defense Authorization Bill authorizes millions of dollars in projects for Cannon Air Force Base near Clovis, including an operations and training complex, a squadron operations facility, a new hangar and a new 96-room dormitory.

The measure also authorizes funds for projects at New Mexico’s two other Air Force Bases, Holloman near Alamogordo and Kirtland in Albuquerque.

Projects at Holloman include maintenance hangars, while Kirtland projects include a fuel system maintenance facility and an armament shop.

The bill also authorizes projects for White Sands Missile Range, the Army National Guard and the Army Reserves.
