Portales man convicted on meth charges

A Portales man was convicted Thursday on six charges, including methamphetamine possession.

Greg Sena, 29, was sentenced to 12 1/2 years in the New Mexico State Penitentiary.

Sena was also found guilty of battery on a peace officer, aggravated DWI, aggravated battery on a household member with a deadly weapon, attempted child abuse and false imprisonment.

The charges stem from three separate incidents — Sept. 20 and Dec. 16 of 2009 and March 6, 2010.

Sena will be required to serve 85 percent of his sentence before he will be considered for parole, and will face two years of parole when he completes his prison term.
